Yaxin Mao is a cinematographer and visual artist based in Los Angeles, originally from Lanzhou, China. Her visual style is intimate and atmospheric, shaped by a deep belief in the individuality of every subject she films. With an academic background in psychology, her work often explores the emotional weight of lived experience.

Yaxin's portfolio spans narrative films, commercials, and photographic series. Whether working on collaborative sets or solo experimental projects, she seeks out stories that resonate quietly yet deeply.

She is currently pursuing her MFA in Film & Television Production at the University of Southern California, and continues to experiment with visual language as a means of storytelling, reflection, and connection.
